Vehicle Pursuit

08/10/2021

Pickens County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Sheriff Todd Hall reports that on Monday August 9, 2021 Pickens County Law Enforcement Officers became involved in a vehicle pursuit.

Tuscaloosa Law Enforcement began a pursuit that eventually included several Pickens County Law Enforcement Agencies.

Officers from Aliceville, Carrollton, Gordo, Reform, Pickens County Drug Task Force, and the Pickens County Sheriff's Office spotted the suspect vehicle and picked up the pursuit which then continued into the South end of the County.   After several attempts to stop the vehicle failed, spike strips were deployed ahead of the chase.  Officers continued to pursue the suspect vehicle but before it reached the spike strips the operator lost control and the vehicle overturned.  Officers apprehended the 2 occupants without further incident.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was already wanted for felony charges in Pickens County and will face additional charges as this investigation continues.

This is an example of Law Enforcement working together and having a successful outcome.  Each of these Officers are more than willing to protect the citizens of Pickens County and put themselves in harms way this and every day.

Thank you for your continued support as we all work hard to make Pickens County a safe place to work and live.

Sheriff Hall expresses his thanks to everyone involved in this event.
