Aliceville, Alabama Shooting 5/30/2021

 

Pickens County Sheriff Todd Hall announces that Aliceville Police Department responded to a shots fired call at approximately 2am on 5-30-2021. Officers responded and found 5 victims from apparent gunshot wounds inside the residence located on 7th St NE in Aliceville, Alabama.


Officers immediately started First-Aid and contacted ambulances and air rescue. Aliceville officers on scene also requested additional officers for backup and units from Carrollton, Reform, Gordo and Pickensville Police Departments as well as Deputies from Pickens County Sheriff's Office responded. The scene was secured and victims were evacuated to Hospitals in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.


Unfortunately one of the victims died at the hospital. The warrants were for one count of murder and four counts of Attempted Murder. This is an ongoing investigation and more charges may be filed at a later date.


Investigators from Pickens County Sheriff's Office, the 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorneys Criminal Investigation Division and the Pickens County Coroner's Office processed the scene and interviewed many witnesses. Information was developed and Officers were able to obtain arrest warrants for Jeremy Lynn Colvin, 27 years old. Suspect Colvin was arrested at the Aliceville Police Department after his family brought him in.


The quick response by all the Departments involved made this investigation successful. Without the cooperation from all the Officers this quick resolution would not have been possible.


Sheriff Hall thanks the people who came forward with information. Officers appreciate citizens who make a stand and say "enough is enough".
