Sheriff Todd Hall reports that a missing elderly Gordo man has been found safe.

An elderly Gordo man who had been reported missing was located off a dirt road in the Gordo area Thursday night by Pickens County Sheriff's Office Deputies, City of Gordo Police Officers and Pickens County Coroner Chad Harless.

The elderly gentleman had been missing for several hours and with the weather deteriorating family members contacted the Sheriffs Office and a search began immediately.

Officers were able to develop information from various witnesses who had seen the man earlier in the day. After locating the man First Responders administered 1st aid.

Sheriff Hall encourages anyone that may have a family member who might possibly wonder off to contact the Sheriffs Office and take advantage of the "Project Life Saver" program.
